We did a 3D2N tour a couple of years back when Jon was still with a different company.
I don't think we would have made it without him. He always cheered us on, answered all our questions about Indonesian culture and told us everything about Mt. Rinjani. He even taught us some Indonesian, which we still use on our mountain tours in Europe.

My husband and I booked a 2D/1N Mt. Rinjani trek with Yon and his crew and it was the experience of a lifetime!

Yon was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and always checked in on us. The porters worked magic — fresh hot meals and a comfortable campsite. Their strength is unmatched.

We hiked Mt. Rinjani with Yon as our guide, and he was honestly one of the biggest reasons the whole experience was so smooth and enjoyable. He’s incredibly attentive — always checking in on us, making sure we were comfortable, and somehow always knowing exactly how long it would take to reach the next spot. His timing is unbelievably accurate.

Yon also kept us really well-fed throughout the hike, which makes such a difference when you’re tired and climbing for hours. And he was especially supportive with my boyfriend on the way down the hills, helping him through the tougher sections with so much patience and encouragement.

Went on a 3D2N hike with Yon up Rinjani. This was my first ever hiking experience and I can say with certainty Yon made it a very positive experience. He was very friendly from the get-go and always ensured we went about things safely. Wir haben eine 2D1N Tour mit Yon zum Kraterrand gemacht und waren total begeistert. Yon ist ein toller und sehr erfahrener Guide (vor seiner Selbstständigkeit hat er lange Zeit für einen namenhaften Anbieter gearbeitet). Er wurde uns von Freunden empfohlen und wir hätten uns keinen besseren Guide vorstellen können. Yon hat uns vor der Wanderung wichtige Hinweise zur Wanderung gegeben, wir konnten uns bei ihm Wanderstöcke ausleihen und die Kommunikation mit ihm war super. Es hat sehr viel Spaß gemacht mit ihm zu wandern. An rutschigen Stellen hat er mich super unterstützt und motiviert.

Auch die Porter waren sehr nett, haben ein tolles Camp für uns aufgebaut (sehr gutes Zelt, warme Schlafsäcke) und unglaublich lecker für uns gekocht. Wir haben größten Respekt vor diesem Job und sind sehr dankbar für dieses Erlebnis.

We did the 4d3n trip with Yon, what a great guide and overall guy. He coached us through the challenging parts and helped us with really enjoying the experience overall.
Not all tours are equal; we had some friends book with another company and have a terrible experience. Not with Yon, he just made sure everything was as good as it could possibly be! We always had the best spot, the best food and the best equipment.

Yon guided us on a 3d/2n trekking to the Senaru Crater Rim, with descent through the Torean Valley, and he has been an exceptional guide: generous, entertaining and thoughtful, but also very cautious when leading us through the most thrilling parts, and adjusting the pace when needed. The route is challenging but the magnificent views are worth every effort. Unforgettable experience!
